Dr Rebecca Pryde- Clinic Lead at Shore Psychology CIC

Dr Rebecca Pryde

Clinic Lead

My therapeutic style is built on warmth, compassion and creating a safe environment in therapy.  I work collaboratively with clients to allow their voice to be heard and to to develop a shared understanding of their difficulties.  I strive to empower clients to identify and work towards goals that are meaningful for them.  I adopt a person-centred, integrative approach, ensuring that treatment is both evidence-based, whilst best suited to the needs of the individual. I have experience of working with children, young people and their families with a range of mental health difficulties. I am experienced in conducting neurodevelopmental assessments for autism and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).  It is important to me that these assessments are strengths-based and based on neuro-affirming, evidence-based practice. I prioritise the therapeutic relationship, through creating a sense of safety and engaging young people through their interests and with humour.

I have experience working with adults with a range of mental health difficulties and most recently I was working in the Staff Support Service, providing psychological support to staff who had been impacted, and in some cases, traumatised, by the caring role they were in.  I also have experience working in a service for survivors of trauma and abuse- providing psychological therapy in order to treat symptoms of trauma and supporting them to feel empowered to find and re-engage in what feels meaningful for them again.
