Maddy Miller
Occupational Therapist
I am a warm, compassionate, approachable and experienced Occupational Therapist. I understand seeking therapy and support takes bravery and courage. My goal is to provide holistic and collaborative support to enable individuals to live their best lives.
I have experience of neurodiversity assessment as an adult and have sought support for my own mental health and wellbeing.
Occupational Therapists facilitate individuals to access and participate in everyday life through interests and activities which are of value to them. At every age, activities support people to develop and maintain other aspects of their lives, including life skills, relationships, and wellbeing. I understand how different types of challenges can impact daily life and create feelings of uncertainty about the future. The idea of doing new or different things can also feel overwhelming, including meeting with a new person to discuss this.
My aim is to ensure that you feel adequately motivated, competent, and supported to take part in life activities. This can include developing balanced and fulfilling routines to enhance wellbeing and promote good mental health.
I have worked in a variety of clinical areas including adult learning disabilities and adult mental health. I currently work in NHS addictions service and older adult mental health as a Specialist Occupational Therapist. My experience spans community teams, inpatient care and working in partnership with the third sector.
