Rosie McGloughlin
Associate Psychologist
“I am a friendly, warm and compassionate therapist. I’ve been driven to alleviate suffering using psychology for many years and my practice is rooted in a strong therapeutic relationship. I understand that taking the step to seek therapy requires bravery and strength, when you may not feel you have either. After facing my own adversities, I have a deep understanding of how challenging mental health difficulties can be and how wider societal prejudices can exacerbate this. As your therapist, I aim to adapt to what you need, using evidence-based therapies to make helpful shifts in the right direction. I like to draw on your strengths, assets and any aspects of creativity, which may help you along the way.”
I have over 12 years of experience working in mental health, across a broad range of charitable and NHS sectors. Hearing, understanding and often transforming the stories of hundreds of clients, I know how valuable good quality therapy can be. I have worked across the lifespan, but most of my experience has been working with adults. Helping marginalised minorities or those with unseen or stigmatised disabilities is one of my specialties. Currently, I work as a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology in an NHS HIV and Sexual Health service, alongside my role in Shore Psychology.
In addition to my psychology work, I am a certified Forest Bathing Guide. This means I am trained to help others develop slow, mindful and deeper connections to nature, both one to one and in groups. We all need to find helpful ways to calm down our nervous system in our busy world, and for me mindful nature connection is the most nourishing. I enjoy sharing this practice with others and if this would be a beneficial part of your journey, this can be woven into our therapeutic work together.
