Dr Alexandra Nielsen
Clinical Psychologist
“I am passionate about helping people navigate their emotions and challenges, and I love working in a way that is flexible, creative, and tailored to each person drawing from a range of evidence-based approaches. As someone who enjoys creative pursuits, I often bring artistic techniques into my work—whether that is through storytelling, metaphor, or visual expression. My goal is to create a space where people feel safe to explore, experiment, and grow in a way that feels natural to them”
I have 10 years of experience working across the lifespan, supporting both adults and young people with a wide range of mental health challenges. My work with adults has focused on severe and enduring mental illness in both in-patient and community settings within the NHS. Alongside this, I have experience working with children and young people, supporting those with cognitive difficulties, neurodiversity-related needs, neurodevelopmental assessments, and functional neurological disorders, as well as general mental health concerns like anxiety and depression.
I have also worked in a specialist service for fostered and adopted children, providing attachment-focused therapy to help them build security and trust in relationships. I am passionate about tailoring therapy to each person’s unique experiences, whether through structured assessments or more creative, expressive approaches.
I can offer therapy in English, Swedish and Danish.
