Dr Clodagh Coyle

Clinical Psychologist

Nadia Giannelou
I am a counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in trauma, gender-based and sexual violence. I understand that seeking therapy can feel vulnerable, particularly when past experiences have affected trust, safety, or relationships. My aim is to provide a steady, compassionate and honest space where clients feel emotionally safe and supported to explore their experiences at their own pace.

I place human connection at the heart of my work. I believe that lasting change is most likely when people feel genuinely seen and supported. I strive to offer a space where everyone feels welcome, valued, and able to explore their thoughts and emotions openly, at a pace that feels comfortable for them.

Much of my work has involved supporting survivors of sexual and gender-based violence and childhood adversity. I have experience working with complex trauma, including shame, dissociation, relational difficulties, and the long-term impact of abuse. Alongside trauma-focused work, I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship challenges.

In addition to my clinical training, I am a Yoga Alliance–accredited teacher and sometimes bring gentle mindfulness and body-based practices into sessions. These techniques support the mind-body connection, helping clients develop awareness, calm, and emotional regulation alongside evidence-based psychological therapy.

I also offer couples and relationship therapy, supporting partners who may be navigating communication difficulties, trust ruptures, emotional disconnection, or recurring relational patterns.

Clinical Experience

I have a range of experience working across the lifespan with people facing various mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and difficulties related to self-esteem and emotional regulation. I also work within the NHS in a child and adolescent mental health service and work with a broad range of mental health and psychological difficulties. For the past eight years, I have worked within specialist trauma services, third-sector organisations, higher education, private practice, and associate clinical settings, supporting adults, young adults, and students.

My previous roles have included working across different NHS services including a specialist forensic service supporting individuals with complex and varied presentations. These roles have strengthened my ability to work thoughtfully with complexity, risk, and uncertainty, while maintaining a compassionate and person-centred approach. I am passionate about trauma-informed practice and bring this lens into my therapeutic work by prioritising safety, trust, and collaboration. I aim to work in ways that respect individual boundaries, support autonomy, and recognise the impact of life experiences on wellbeing.I work in a person-centred, trauma-focused way, guided by the therapeutic relationship. I hold an anti-oppressive, feminist perspective, recognising that our experiences are shaped not only by personal history but also by wider social and cultural contexts. I support clients with an awareness of how trauma can affect both the mind and body, creating a space grounded in empathy, respect, and connection.
