“As a mother of two young children, I understand the challenges of parenthood and strive to offer a warm, safe space for clients to explore the complex thoughts and feelings this journey brings. My psychodynamic approach is rooted in the belief that early childhood experiences shape us. Parenting can often trigger memories or emotions from our own upbringing, even if they aren’t fully conscious. My aim is to provide a gentle, non-judgmental space to explore these triggers and challenges in the present, fostering understanding rather than blame. Having faced my own struggles in early motherhood, I deeply empathise with the life-changing shift that comes with becoming a parent.“
My clinical experience started with working at the largest low-cost counselling charity = PF in Edinburgh. I was fortunate to support a wide range of clients with various mental health challenges over the course of three years. During that time, I became a mother and my focus and passion shifted to wanting to specialise in supporting women and parents which led me to team up with Sarah Wheatley at Birth and Beyond. Over the last few years, I have been supporting dozens of clients in my private practice. I also run small group counselling sessions at a charity in Leith that supports mothers and parents.
